Why
So, uh, here's the big one. Why do I write? I think this excerpt from the “About” section on my blog provides some insight on the topic:
“I see writing as a way for me to gain a deeper understanding of the subjects I am interested in as well as an avenue to pull my disconnected, sometimes contradictory thoughts out of my head and put them down into plain English, to challenge the veracity of my preconceived notions and explore why they existed to begin with.”
I would also add to this that writing is a building block for creative pursuits. Writing undergirds my web design, video production, game development, even social media posts. Becoming a stronger communicator opens doors that may not have been visible beforehand.
