Write Freely, the software that powers this community, is built to enforce your right to privacy by default. It retains as little data about you as possible, not even requiring an email address to sign up. However, if you do input your email address, it is stored encrypted in the Write Freely database. They also salt and hash your account's password.

So, what exactly does Write Freely keep? They store log files, or data about what happens on their servers. They also use cookies to keep you logged into your account.

Beyond this, it's important that you trust the admin that runs howdoyouspell.cool (which happens to me, forrest). Software can only do so much to protect you; meaning: your level of privacy protection ultimately falls on the human that runs this community; although, the jury is still out on whether the admin of this community is actually human or not — some think he's a tanuki in disguise. Jokes aside, as this community is hosted through the writefeely.host service, I do not personally have access to your email, password, or even your IP address. The only power I have here, beyond the ability to adjust certain configuration parameters of the instance itself, is the ability to ban your account and delete your posts.
